Course Description | Cultural studies is an interdisciplinary field and this course will introduce the students to the history and development of this field in Turkey and beyond. We will start with a brief history of the development of the field and analyze the concept of culture. We will then discuss specific theoretical contributions and particularly scrutinize the development of the field in Turkey. Every week there will be screenings (movies,documentaries, advertisements...) that will relate the theoretical\nperspectives to our practical understanding. |
